Very very good stuff - I think I’m going to have to add his latest book “Don’t think of an Elephant” to my Amazon Wish List.

Anyway, Lackoff really is about the best on reframing language, and his methods represent one of the only effective counter-strategies I know to the Goebbels/Rove/etc propaganda machines. He has been around for a long time, and has a good reputation - I used some of his language in my PhD dissertation - but current events have really springboarded him into new importance. I don’t agree with his characterization of the political parties, but the strategies he recommends for argumentation aren’t bad at all.
