It’s not the first time they’ve been seen holding hands. Remember the G8 summit in France in – what was it – 2003? There were photos taken then too – do a quick images search and you’ll find it. I’d post them, but I’m not sure if I’m legally allowed.

Sure, I had a wee giggle to myself when I saw Mr. Macho holding hands. In another way, though, it was friendly and respectful of cultural difference – it was one area in which Bush allowed himself to be somewhat open to that diplomatic ground in-between.

If he might pursue his policies the same way – and with perhaps different friends – we might be getting somewhere at last.

In any case, I’d rather hear about the substance of what they discussed.
