Dinosaur Jr Photos? Blogging Friends Roundup
If anyone has photos of Dinosaur Jr.’s performance at Lollapalooza 2005 in Chicago, please post or send. I’m particularly looking for face shots of Murph and J. Mascis – I only met Lou once or twice, but was kinda sorta friends with Murph and I will never forget the phenom of J (who I suspect completely misread me).
Haven’t had a chance to visit my friend’s blogs this week. So what’s happening?
- Etherealfire writes on the death of Star Trek’s “Scottie” (James Doohan) and a put-your-lives-where-your-greed-is argument for neocon chickenhearts using the example of Jimmy Stewart. Note: On the flipside, perhaps only those who support this war (and their children, and their grandchildren) should pay for it.
- Postcards from Hell’s Kitchen blogged the “100 things about me” meme – nicely done! – and tells us about his doctor’s visit and adventures with Smyles.
- Rosei was honored with an invitation to the big farewell party of her graduating students. Congrats Rosei – can’t wait for the pics.
- There is a rant against social “neo-relativism” (which attempts to put bad ideas and actions beyond criticism by comparing them to something else) at Where the Dolphins Play – interesting read.
- Bev at Honey I’m Fabulous has a new Johnny Depp layout now and blogged Joe Biden’s complete letter on Roberts’ Supreme Court Nomination – as well as an adorable photo of her niece Emily.
- Richard at Love Ministries posted a note from a “Type one Quaker” and a note on mysticism and the idea of the world as “mirror.”
- Ravyn is in a blue funk at Raven’s Retreat, stressing out over serious financial shortages. She’s a great graphic designer – anyone need graphic work or website design? Go cheer her up if you have a minute.
- Gentle Breezes has blogged on an example of the broken system: a naturalized citizen and US vet with passport and visa is picked up in Iraq where he was going to make a film and is instead thrown into solitary confinement at Abu Graib for a couple months as a suspected terrorist.
- Mystical Grrl has a bunch of blog quiz results – fun.
- Just rambling has an Amazon deal and five quick rules for happiness.
- Grateful Bear has posts on the latest Harry Potter book as kid noir, the avian victims’ unit needed for crows and other casualties of his feline companion, and the Pope blog.
- At Virtual Pus, MagicalShrimp posts on a very funny article called “You Owe Me,” giant carnivorous island mice, and raging old people who want to take the places of the children and grandchildren in Iraq. My friend PusBoy writes on his concern about why the administration feels the need to hide information and lie about Supreme Court Nominee Roberts when we already know he’s a right-wing conservative (note: After denying he was a member of the far-right Federalist Society, the Washington Post revealed this morning that John Roberts was in fact on the steering committee of the Washington chapter.) Pusboy also has a post about a girl so clueless that she not only plays a “choking game” with a neighbor but also preens for the AP photographer.
- Frosty Ice (by the goddess of all things icey) describes her new aquarium and four fish selections, as well as a parental insecurity freakfest at the Chuck E. Cheese (where she took her Dad for his birthday? Must be a great dad!).

Cool “Blogger’s Digest”!
That was fun! Thanks for the tour.
