Why Should George talk to Cindy?

Why He Should

It would be an opportunity for him to make a gesture of compassion toward people that have suffered and sacrificed because of policies and decisions that have never been honestly or adequately explained to the American people.

It would be an opportunity to establish a meaningful public forum on the topic of why we went to war. Perhaps it’s time to actually make the argument that we need those permanent bases, we need the resources and control, we need the oil, whatever. If it’s a good argument, it’s long past the time when we should have heard it. If intelligence was fixed around the plan, we need to know the reasons for the plan.

It would be a method of presenting a real explanation, however difficult, that the American people could understand and that might have some chance of bringing us together in unity – and in reality.

It is his job as President to lead all Americans. Ultimately, the President is, in fact, answerable to us. Although not many are saying this, it’s really his job – and he hasn’t been doing it.

It would show maturity, and security in his position.

It would show support for all military families – whether for or against the war, they deserve to know why the invasion of Iraq was worth their sacrifices and dedication.

It would be a way to atone for the “bring ‘em on” statement.

But he probably won’t. A moment that reveals a lot – the motorcade that drove past Cindy and the other protesters at the Crawford Ranch. Drove right on by – to a fundraiser, yet. It’s hard to argue for that. He might as well have flipped the bird.

My feeling is that he won’t.

Why He Won’t

George won’t talk to Cindy because he can’t think on his feet and he might do or say something regrettable. He’s not used to being confronted – he gets mad and jumpy.

George won’t talk to Cindy because he has to have complete control of the staging and the audience and the participants. This wasn’t a set-up, so he won’t play.

George won’t talk to Cindy because he wouldn’t be able to mask his derision, made all the more difficult because she is female. Maybe Laura and his daughters could advise him – do some role-playing.

Oh! That’s it! Send Laura out – that would be the brilliant strategy. What a picture that would be – two moms from different worlds. Actually, that might be the only way, short of George being a human being, that the right-wing could save this situation.

What to Do
As far as I’m concerned, let Bush just continue to do exactly what he is doing – it really shows his true colors. Let the people see his disregard – he has to “get on with his life” – riding his bike, surrounding himself with his yes-people, making more money plans, that kind of thing. Let them watch the smear-campaign. Let’s see how nasty they can get -I’m very sure that it will get even sleazier than it already is.

Hang on Cindy, don’t be frustrated – just stay there. Just stay there and be – keep talking. I heard you on Air America today and was even more impressed.

I’d love to see the counter-protesters start really talking to the protesters – they actually have some points in common. Whether you want to glorify or impeach George – even if you really don’t care one way or another – we still deserve answers to some basic questions about what America is all about these days. It affects all of us.. and our children… and our grandchildren. We will be paying for all of this crony corruption for a long time to come, and not just in money.

Are you really an idiot or do you just pretend to be one? President bush HAS ALREADY met with Lunatic Sheehan and before the anti-American left got their filthy hands on her she was singing a different tune. THE GREATEST THREAT TO THE SECURITY AND SURVIVAL OF THE UNITED STATES IS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY AND THE LIBERAL LOONS THAT RUN IT. So please start reporting the truth or don’t report at all. You look like more of a buffoon than Cindy does.

Response: My blog, my take on it, my judgment, my view of the truth. The greatest threat to the US is liberals? It seems you need to do a little reading, listening and travelling.

Yeah, some time ago. This is a public issue now – and maybe this time he won’t call her “mom.” There has been a lot more information since then that suggests the reasons for this war and these sacrifices were not presented in an honorable way to the people of this country. It’s gone beyond being about one mother’s loss. Cindy stands in for a lot of people now.

And it doesn’t matter. He DID meet with her, just as he met with hundreds of others.

It’s a public issue ONLY because she sold out to the activist left. It’s a public issue ONLY because she figured out she could cash in her son’s death for 15-minutes of fame and future book/movie deals.

What new information are you referring to? The fact that the government was already on the trail of four of the 19 9/11 hijackers a year prior but was unable to persue it because of roadblocks set up by the Clinton administration?

Back then they were still claiming that Hussein had WMDs and a connection to Al Qaeda buth causes since dropped.

If my son had died because of the first two reasons I would be plenty sad. But to find out that those were lies in order for Cheney and his PNAC crowd to go into Iraq and seize the oilfields I would be plenty angry.

America has been taken hostage by criminals. Cindy’s is just one voice trying to take it back.

She is not the only one. Be on the look out for further evidence of this administration’s criminal activities. They have much blood on their hands.

I’m giggling. She’s using her son – that’s really funny. George won’t even say what the real “noble cause” is for which these soldiers die – he uses and disregards them – they are just cattle. But a mother who loses her son wants an explanation of what he died for, and she’s the one using him?

By the way – to the other nasty posters here – what she is doing and all of what is posted on the board here is what we are protecting. Remember? This is America. This is freedom of expression. This is one way in which we all still have a voice, however small. What puts our soldiers in danger and in harm’s way isn’t disagreement among ourselves, but the wholesale reoganization of what America is all about. George’s policies have put us into more danger, not less. Research it yourself.

The right wing doesn’t give a damn about “saving the situation” because in their view, there’s no situation to be saved. They view this concerned mother as a left-wing kook who will eventually go away if they ignore her.
