US band Green Day have been named best band on the planet at this year’s Kerrang! rock awards.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Music | Green Day heading MTV shortlist
Green Day also scored the most nominations for the US MTV Video Music Awards - Green Day got six nominations for Boulevard of Broken Dreams and two for the hit single American Idiot.
