Question: Does the Bush/Cheney Administration mirror the “inner soul” of the American people? Is this what we have become?

May I add these immortal words of Josiah Quincy (1744-1775) as a sort of corrolary:

“Liberty is not safe where the people are not watchful.”

In the same vein, these equally-immortal words of George Santayana (1863-1952):

“Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

I doubt it.

I think there is so much apathy out there, so much hopelessness about any real change being attainable, that the Shrubberals have a disproportionate presence in the political life of America.

We can change that, and indeed we must.
