I find that it isn't too difficult if one is a little wary of carving people apart with projected labels in the first place.  After all, I can't speak for all white female married exJW underemployed Massachusetts transplants to Georgia with one child and one massive student loan problem - oh, wait. Maybe I can. (grin) I might be the only one, in which case I can certainly speak for myself! I think the terminology per se is probably less important than that the discourse is simply civil, respectful, and listening for the ways in which people choose to define themselves. Tell me where in any contemporary literary/political theory of difference that any of this could be defended. It's about honoring difference, not erasing it. I hope it is not just sheer stupidity, although that would be better than the possibility of the same groups operating there as do here.
