Reviews of his "performances" over the last 15 years or so show a guy who is, in my opinion, in a state of genuine decline. It's been apparent for some time now that he can't speak off the page-the talking points are the only thing he has. This isn't a question of being "on message" so much as is revelatory of a guy who genuinely does not understand what he wrought. And now that there are nothing but fawning ass-kissers anywhere near him, it is logical to assume his decline would have accelerated. I would disagree.
