Faith of the Abomination is an independent documentary film created in Austin, TX about the experiences of a lesbian couple who went undercover as a heterosexual couple inside an Evangelical Organization. The film is currently in post production.

At work, we've tried hosting at DreamHost and Bluehost. They both have one-click updates of WordPress. We left after having too much downtime, hoping that Yahoo would at least be more reliable.

The site has been up 24/7 as far as we can tell, so that worked out great. However, this WordPress issue is a nightmare, and also our emails come in bursts (and are often delayed when we send them, too).

I've been very happy with DreamHost for this site. I have tons of space, and they have been very responsive to me when there have been small issues here and there.

Serving your own site is a great solution, but I just don't want to have my computer on all the time. It's a bit old. I've heard that if you have a dedicated server machine, you can just put your site on a usb flash and isolate it so that you don't make your computer vulnerable. Still, for me it's the issue of having the connection always on...

Let me know how it goes for you - and email me if you have any trouble with the plugins. I might be able to help.

I found a way around the hosting blues. I now host my own wordpress site on my own machine at home.

I am in no way suggesting that you do this yourself, but I just found that I had less problems when I controlled everything from my end. You also, probably get a hell of a lot more traffic than I do, too.

Mind you, I'm still getting the hang of wordpress and havn't started using any plug-ins as yet.

Well done though, it is great to see people tackling computer problems head on and offerin the solutions to the problems for others to get benefit from also. Keep up the good work!
