Sounds like fun. We have done our share of parties outside the house (mostly because I was too busy to clean it! LOL) but the best ones are always the ones at home. One year we had a water balloon party - the kids had a ball and I (in my smart thinking) made a game out of who could find the most balloon parts off the lawn! (the one who found the most won a prize!) kids had a blast and my lawn was clear of the 10 million or so balloon parts!!!!. People today are so busy trying to outdo each other, to have the best, the biggest party, that they forget. Simple. Ben said it "we hardly ever get time to play". Kids are forced to grow up way too fast. Remember how much fun we had as kids just swinging on the swing set in your yard? Or a bunch of us running around in the field near my house playing baseball, dodgeball, kickball? or the nighly "releave-0" games? (loved those the most!) how excited we got when the ice cream man pulled into the parking lot? ("Maaaaaaaahhhhmmmmmm, can I have a dime?" - God, am I dating myself or what?) My kids have grown up in an isolated area, there are other kids on the street, but the closest one is about 1/4 mile away! They did not get the joy we had growing up in a neighborhood where there was always 10-15 kids around at any time! Simple joys that have been forgotten. Simple times, Simple pleasures, they are always the best!
