I have not seen Spiderman 3 - the kids went with friends (they are at that age and I am loving it,dont have to go see the ones I dont want to anymore!) We saw Pirates yesterday. Actually, we chaperoned what turned out to be a double date for my baby and his new girlfriend Catherine (what a cutie pie!) and his best friend and his girlfriend. I found myself watching them more than the movie!!!! LOL Maybe that is why I did not like the movie. I hated the way the story ended. oh and if you go, wait the 15 minutes thru all the credits or you miss the real end of the movie! Thank God for the woman in the back of the theatre who told me about it. I still did not like it. Shrek 3 was by far the best yet (I love Gingy) and Snow White really rocked! LOL you HAVE to see that!

Just got back from it myself.

I was really kind of iffy on it. I had the same problem you mentioned with Tobey Maguire's crying during the death scene. I did laugh. I just couldn't handle the manly-banter-before-death. To be honest, I thought the whole thing fell flat on an emotional front. The scene on the bridge where MJ dumps Peter kind of summed it up for me. These two people CAN act, but I felt zero during that scene. The only character whose motivation I bought was Sandman's. My comic book sources tell me the sick daughter was added by the screenwriter.

Still, it was fun. Another great cameo for Bruce Campbell and it is always nice of Sam to toss his brother Ted a little work occasionally.
