I am a sophomore that goes to that school and yeah he could be a little more active with us students and his involvement with us but still, he had to make a point that acting innapropriatley, especially as adults, is unacceptable. By the way he is most def not racist in any way.

Elcie’s Middle School graduation was last week with cheering throughout. We may have been the loudest of the bunch.

If you’ll pardon an old cliche, zero tolerance is throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

I’ve seen it abused time after time.

I am a citizen & parent in the State of Illinois of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. This is: UNACCEPTABLE…….!!!
Unfortunately, the World & America is a mess.
These children/students obviously performed their required studies and “earned” their Diplomas. Unless of course the “system” passed them anyway…..but they did. So in that, I am proud of them for standing up for their “rights.”
With American schools having such issues w/ shootings, drugs, fights, truancy, & pregnancys……you would think that this would be the VERY LEAST of concern. This is petty and pathetic!
They should be proud of the students and guests in their cheers of support for the student’s accomplishments!!
Kids can’t be kids anymore…and it is such a shame…..

CONGRATULATIONS you 5 students!! Job well done….

Hold your heads up high and be proud of who you all are and the strength that you have learned throughout this negative experience to continue on your journey of success!

Here we go again. When will our school administrators bring some common sense back into the schools? I see this type of thing happening over and over. I can just imagine what the day to day life for the students are like. We don’t hear about the day to day situations, only the biggies that make a wave so big that someone has to step up and say enough IS ENOUGH.
