I'm a Republican, but if I were a Democrat I'd have to vote for Hillary. It's unfortunate that Washington has to be navigated in order to get anything accomplished, but that's the fact. Hillary would be better at negotiating Washington waters and had the best chance at acheiving. anything. her contacts and experience are far greater than Obama's.

Obama's a wonderful wordsmith and has the enchantment factor hands down. I believe he's terribly inexperienced and just plain naive regarding foreign affairs. groom him in a high level position and run him again in 4 or 8 years. Geez, the guys not very old.

The economy will decide this election. If it still stinks in late summer the Dems have a great shot.

Best!

I am heartbroken. I actually believed, for a few moments, that I was going to be able to vote in a primary for someone I WANTED to be Prez, not just the better of 2 or 3 others candidates. No such luck. First went Kucinich, the only true Democrat in the entire bunch, then Edwards, who I admire for his growth and increasingly populist stands. Hillary is too much of a REPUG for my taste, to "in" with the old crowd and their old ways of doing things. Obama speaks well and seems to have the charisma Clinton lacks, but, no experience. And, he seems much too malleable at this early stage in his career. But, I shall prob vote for him, even though I would dearly love to see a woman break the WH glass ceiling. And, yes, I shall vote, if only to get the Repugs out in the cold.

Well, I've been backing Hillary since the beginning. . . heck I was hoping she would get into the race. And it's for a plain and simple reason, that I believe she's capable. Does it mean she would have a successful term (especially after the huge mess created by the bozo and twit in office now), of course not, but she has shown herself to be capable. I was interested in John Edwards among a couple others four years ago, but now, I just saw it a little differently.

Does that mean Obama's not capable, he might very well be -- but I do go back and forth between wondering if he could use a little more experience. Sometimes I think people use that as a bad word, but the thing is there is a difference between experience and being brainwashed by DC. I think people equate the two -- and while it sure is true for some, it doesn't have to be for all. But yeah, I hear once in a while people say that he gives great speeches but not much on specifics. Well, that does tend to be the story of any politician, but you need to mention something once in a while.

Ah, okay, I'm rambling now. . . so I'll be quiet for now. LOL :)

"I wonder if there might have been any behind-the-scenes action to push Edwards out."
It really wouldn't surprise me if there was. The primaries are not how the nominee is picked. The nominee is chosen by the party leaders. Primaries are nothing but a way for the party leaders to gauge who they believe will have a better chance of winning. That goes for both parties.

And as for why Kennedy endorsed Obama instead of Hilary, it's not that hard to figure out. Kennedy doesn't really care who the nominee is. He wants a Democrat in the White House. And as you said yourself, a lot of people don't like Hilary. Most people don't really have any strong opinions about Obama. So with the current political climate and with Obama as the nominee they really can't lose this election.
