I'll be adjuncting after this semester, as my husband has two years to go on his PhD, and it will help kill time. I'd love to unionize us. But that's very complicated. If you think getting tenured faculty (or even people with at least non-tenuous position in the university) to support adjuncts, you should watch the reaction on adjuncts' faces when you suggest they unionize! Everyone is scared silly, and I'm not sure why. The university couldn't function without them. The Georgia University System is not much better. We need to get the word out to the public at large.
