They really resonated in my heart as did your own. While I was born & raised in The USA, I left it during the horror of Viet Nam. Nevertheless, most of my family (Brother, children, grandchildren & great grandchildren) live there and I fear for them and the country they live in. I really hope Obama gets elected and dread the idea of McCain and Palin getting into the White House. If the latter happens, I think you ought to move to Canada and seek political refuge.
