Hi Heidi! Hey great post!

“Better him than me." That in a nutshell says it all about our general attitude in this country. The higher up on the food chain the more we use and abuse the ones further down, without a care in the world, and then when they stick up for themselves (and "make waves") they are looked upon as trouble makers and disobedient.

I have no respect for the mindless sheeple who can listen to so-called authority and repeat everything they've heard (as in the recent mudslinging on the Presidential campaign trail) without giving it a second thought, like brainless robots, and those in power know this, they count on us to be totally afraid to make our own decisions, have thoughts of our own, and those who stand up and say "Hey, wait a minute" are poo-pooed on. Instead of uniting the country they are dividing us. To me it's one huge experiment in mind control.

When I learnt about Milgram's experiment in college I found it quite chilling, probably more disturbing than Dr. Watson's treatment of Albert because it reflected on society as a whole rather than individuals. If I remember correctly, nearly everyone in the class stated that they would have refused to take part, but I wonder. Of course, I hope would say no, but would I?

There is such an obvious schism in the way of thinking of people in this country that I have become more convinced than ever that it will lead to a physical separation, with probably about 5 different countries of varying degrees of freedom and prosperity rising from the ashes of the former US.

I tell you honestly that I would not like to be in the deep south right now, and I am concerned even about where I am. There is some comfort in knowing Michigan and Pennsylvania are both nearby, though.
