We are the single biggest polluter  on the planet, the guilty party for 1\/4 of the world&#8217;s greenhouse gases.<\/p>\n<p>But Bush&#8217;s anti-science administration bows to the coal, oil, and auto industries. We don&#8217;t care about international agreements, even ones we&#8217;ve worked on ourselves. We don&#8217;t even care about basic security or self-preservation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Nine of the 10 hottest years on record occurred after 1994, according to the United Nations&#8217; World Meteorological Organization. The arctic ice sheet has shrunk 20% since 1979. And bears are coming out of hibernation a month early, throwing off their entire life cycles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I guess it don&#8217;t bother us none &#8211; after all, doncha know Armegeddon is coming anyway? Meanwhile, we gots to make us some moohlah at the top &#8211; screw the planet, screw the people, screw the children, screw the future. <\/p>\n<p>Our religion is Mammon &#8211; god of greed, god of money, god of sacrifice.
