I do believe he is my favorite writer at the New York Times.<\/p>\n<p>In this editorial, Krugman points out the deficiencies in just one area of Ashcroft&#8217;s job &#8211; the fight against terror.<\/p>\n<p>Before 911, he was &quot;aggressively uninterested&quot; in the threat.<br \/>Post 911?:<\/p>\n<p>Absence of any major successful prosecutions.<\/p>\n<p>Lack of any major captures &#8211; while the anthrax terrorist laughs, the Critical Art ensemble is prosecuted for harmless bacterial art.<\/p>\n<p>The memo from his department putting the president above the law with regard to torture, and widening torture&#8217;s definition beyond the Geneva conventions and other international laws.<\/p>\n<p>Response to criticism?
