He is a Vietnam Veteran and suffers from flashbacks, alcoholism and severe depression.<\/p>\n<p>After he committed his crimes, he went directly to the police and confessed his guilt. He has shown remorse for his crimes and been a model prisoner.<\/p>\n<p>These facts do not excuse him from his crimes.  However, the jurors were not informed that a life sentence was an alternative to the death penalty in this case.<\/p>\n<p>Please ask North Carolina&#8217;s Governor Michael F.
