Fahrenheit and Passion Win
‘Fahrenheit,’ ‘Passion’ Win People’s Choice Awards
Kudos to the people! Michael Moore, vilified on all sides, gets some much-deserved credit in winning the People’s Choice Awards.
Mel Gibson too – although his movie about the destruction of the human body isn’t really to my personal taste.
To some extent, they represent two distinct audiences. It was interesting to me that Moore dedicated his win to the soldiers in Iraq and that Mel Gibson thanked people in the blue states and red states.
“This country is still all of ours, not right or left or Democrat or Republican,” said a dapper-looking Moore (new glasses, coolish haircut and beard).
Martin Sheen, who I wish was our president for real, noted that it was good to see some democracy in action…. at the People’s Choice Awards.
