For the Record

For the record, here’s my viewpoint (in no particular order).

Death of Arthur Miller: My favorite play was “The Crucible,” not “Death of a Salesman.” He was a courageous guy in many ways, and certainly brilliant. I like the way he handled the McCarthy-era stuff – not by pleading the 5th, but the 1st. He got right to the heart of it. He sure had a wonderfully handsome face when he was young.

Condi’s Tour – She needs to be thrilling, but she’s just not rainbow-high. The woman looks more like what she is everyday – take a good look at her face. A shame to all academics everywhere. She’s not fooling anybody, but they are being welcoming to her anyway.

Prince Charles getting married: Most of all, I just don’t care. But since so many people seem obsessed about the royals, I’ll just say that he might as well marry the woman he seems to have been bonded with for most of his life anyway. She seems an interesting character at least. Maybe she’ll be good for the ole sourpuss.

Carl Rove getting promoted: All it means is that his influence is a tad more official.

Bush’s Social Security Tour: Too many people are buying the whitewash, but it seems that more are opening their eyes to reality.

Dean as Chair of the Democratic Party: Probably won’t make that much difference to the general spinelessness of most of the party, but who knows?

The Superbowl: Yeah, I was happy that the Patriots pulled it out, but it didn’t have near the punch of the Red Sox victory. Both made me homesick.
