Your Element Is Air

You dislike conflict, and you’ve been able to rise above the angst of the world. And when things don’t go your way, you know they’ll blow over quickly.

Easygoing, you tend to find joy from the simple things in life. You roll with the punches, and as a result, your life is light and cheerful.

You find it easy to adapt to most situations, and you’re an open person. With you, what you see is what you get… and people love that!

How You Live Your Life

You have a good sense of self control and hate to show weakness.

You’re laid back and chill, but sometimes you care too much about what others think.

Your friends tend to be a as quirky as you are – which is saying a lot!

You tend to dream big, but you worry that your dreams aren’t attainable.

My score on The Beatles Song Character Test:

Jude
(You scored 38 shyness, 25 bitterness, 54 moral, and 32 eccentric!)

Hey Jude! You are the average Joe/Jane, a decent person striving to make their place in the world. Full of hopes and dreams, but one of the things you want most is that special person to spend your life with. Don’t despair if you can’t seem to find them – you’re a prize!

“And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders.
For well you know that it’s a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.” – ‘Hey Jude’

Be a supportive friend or partner. Help me to learn to love and value myself.
Respect me for my special gifts of intuition and vision.

Don’t tell me I’m too sensitive or that I’m overreacting!

VirusHead at Associated Content

VirusHead at Associated Content

I’ve set up an account at Associated Content (the People’s Media Company). I like the idea of grassroots content production (perhaps even with some payment!).

There is already a well-established database of interesting and fresh information – I found the site by stumbling upon an interview with a JW.

I think I’d probably write on religious topics, politics, academe, viruses, language – the usual. Perhaps it might improve my internal focus. I haven’t submitted any articles yet, but stay tuned for that. I’ll let you know how it goes. Let me know if you have any experience, good or bad, with them. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the terms quite yet, so it’s an experiment for now.

If you’re interested in giving it a whirl, sign up under me – I think I get a referral fee of some sort.

I’ve added a button to the sidebar for my content page, too.

Blog Changes

Blog Changes

Ok – I think I’ve got the basic template tweaked enough for now. I’ve added ratings and a post readers count.

If you weren’t able to access the blog yesterday, it’s because I lost all my previous changes to the template when I upgraded my version of WordPress. What a pain. When I downloaded the backup, it was somehow in the wrong format. I basically had to cut and past sections into Notepad and edit each template page by hand.

There are still some troubled bits of script that I want to display, but there’s quite a lot going on right now (including baby kitty care) so I’ll see how this works for a bit. I’ve got a new page that lists my plug-ins, and I really like the new contact form.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments, using the blog commenting system or the contact form.

Switching Themes

Switching Themes

I’m playing around with a new theme here. I wanted something a little brighter.

Something is messed up with the categorized blogroll. The links don’t display properly and they seem to be breaking the column. Drat.

There are a few other little clean-up tasks to do with the theme too. It might take me a little longer than usual.

Please bear with me while I figure it all out between doing other things.

Advice welcome.

Most Likely Alien Contact

Most Likely Alien Contact

I missed it! While I was out of town, the blog was deemed “most likely to be contacted by aliens“!

Outer-space, that is.

Congratulations! Blog in Space has deemed you “Most Likely to be Contacted.” Your blog will be showcased on the home page of BloginSpace.com on October 29, 2006. We’ve provided a button below for your blog to assist in helping off-world entities locate your blog. You are no longer considered part of the World Wide Web. You are now officially part of the Intergalatic Wide Web. Welcome.

That almost makes up for ML beating me out for the “Best Actress” in senior year of High School (she was in the much cooler play).

It even makes up for the fact that I never saw any evidence whatsoever of a ghost at the beach house where we were staying recently, although the guest journals were full of anecdotal narratives.

Aliens! Your views on what we’re doing to our beautiful world? Is our “higher purpose” simply to produce plastics and pollution for the greater complexity of the cosmos? Comments? Criticisms?

Aliens?
