Buy John’s Book

Buy John’s Book

I have been seriously remiss in my intellectual (and wifely) support! I haven’t even urged you to buy, read, and comment on hubby’s book – The Allure of Machinic Life: Cybernetics, Artificial Life, and the New AI (Bradford Books, MIT Press)! Preview The Allure of Machinic Life at Google Books. I’m a little annoyed about the title, since I preferred “The Lure of Machinic Life” to “The Allure of Machinic Life.” However, the absolutely wonderful bit on me me me…

Gaza

Gaza

I don’t like what I’m seeing at all. I don’t like the fact that there is no one in a position of leadership who will even discuss the human cost of what is happening on the Gaza strip. I don’t like the fact that Barack Obama has said nothing. What are they going to do, treat it like we treated Fallujah? Disproportionate response. The situation is complex, for sure – and I’ve been listening to the arguments for days. The…

Oh! I Forgot! SING

Oh! I Forgot! SING

Although I can’t feel my toes at all, I’m happier now. I forgot! I have to sing. I haven’t been singing! I just did an hour’s set. My poor neighbors. Really. One sign portrayed stick figures wearing Santa hats and engaging in anal intercourse. This seems pretty typical, judging by some of the photos on Flickr….

Yeah, I called it!

Yeah, I called it!

I’m ecstatic today! Happy happy joy joy! Thanks to Vance for reminding me in the comments that I had predicted Obama’s presidential win in July four years ago after his speech at the Boston Democratic Convention. Barack Obama – An Amazing Example – 7-28-2004. And as rushed as I am, I have to document a prediction for the future here. Barack Obama will someday be president of the united states. He will have to pay his dues in the Senate…

I VOTED!

I VOTED!

One more Georgia vote for Barack Obama! Woo-hoo! Ben’s school was closed today, so I took some time from work and we went to the other little elementary school, where we vote. We went over at a little bit before 9:30 AM. The before-work voters had come and gone and the parking lot still have plenty of spaces. We walked right in, filled in our form, showed our id, got approved, and got in line for the machines. There were…
