Earth Day Virtual March

Earth Day Virtual March

Earth Day Virtual March

On the first Earth Day, 20 million Americans called for a cleaner, healthier environment. Their activism helped secure the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. Now, 35 years later, with the Senate’s recent vote to drill in the Arctic Ntn’l Wildlife Refuge, that activism is needed to counter a growing threat to all hard-won environmental protections.

On Earth Day, April 22 – all the letters will be sent to the congresspersons in your state. Send thanks to those who voted to protect the Artic National Wildlife Refuges and strong diappointment to those who voted to allow oil drilling. Urge those who voted to allow drilling to reconsider their vote.

“On this Earthday we should consider what strong actions should be taken to save wildlife, its habitat and the environment we share for future generations of Americans. Not only should we continue to protect our Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts, but Congress should end this constant battle over the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Please set aside the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge from drilling once and for all through the Eisenhower-Udall Arctic Wilderness Protection Act (S.261 and H.R. 567).”

  1. I adore Care2. I’ve been a member of that site for years and years now.

I love their Click for Good Causes program, and their free e-mail is good too.

    Have a great weekend, Vi!

  2. I love Care2 also and I thought this was just the coolest idea ever. I got a little thrill when the virtual map uploaded and saw all those red dots representing all the virtual marchers! What an awesome idea that was!!!

  3. Me too – I have their stuff on my clicks for causes page. I have also been a member for years. Initially I joined for the caremail program. I needed a “fae” email for my WOSIB Fae Garden identity, Fae Lily. I’m not so much a fan of their networking thing although it has caught on at other sites. The network email became such a pain in the neck that I finally deleted it all and went back to using just the email and the causes. I sometimes sign petitions from there as well.
